Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: July 1, 2025

1. Program Overview The Rising Star Program ("Program") supports Medicine Forward (MF) members and interns in building professional portfolios through podcast appearances, article writing, and workshops. Participants receive structured support, guidance, and resources from Medicine Forward to pursue activities aligned with their professional interests and goals.

2. Eligibility

  • Open to all active Medicine Forward interns and interested members.

  • Members must be in good standing and adhere to the MF code of conduct and professional guidelines.


3. Engagement Tracks Participants may engage in the following tracks:

  • Podcast Track: Members are featured as guests on MF-affiliated podcasts. MF will provide support including camera and microphone recommendations, attire guidance, talking points, and promotional strategies.

  • Article Track: Members will author professional articles for MF newsletters, LinkedIn, and external medical or professional journals. MF provides templates, posting guidelines, and endorsement standards.

  • Workshop Track: Members conduct workshops using MF-approved templates, aimed at university, pre-med, and medical school groups. MF offers presentation guidance, examples, and social media endorsement guidelines.


4. Program Completion and Recognition Levels Members advance through engagement levels based on completed activities:

  • Apprentice: Completion of 1 track

  • Journeyman: Completion of 2 track

  • Master/Mentor: Completion of 3 track; inclusion in MF Mentor Database and Hall of Fame

Previous relevant activities can credit up to one engagement, allowing entry at the Apprentice level. Each track consists of 3 activities and any additional required Medicine Forward engagements.

5. Member Responsibilities

  • Members commit to professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to provided MF guidelines.

  • Members agree to mention MF and provide standardized endorsements including MF contact and involvement details.

  • Members must actively communicate with assigned MF liaisons and provide updates on progress.

Professionalism and Respect: Maintain respectful, inclusive, and constructive language at all times. Discriminatory, offensive, or derogatory remarks will not be tolerated.

No Foul Language: Avoid the use of profanity or inappropriate language in all content and communications.
Non-Political Stance: Participants may discuss healthcare policy or systemic issues, but overt political endorsements or criticism of specific political figures, parties, or campaigns is prohibited.

No Religious Endorsement: While referencing personal values or charitable involvement is acceptable, religious evangelizing or promotion of specific religious beliefs is not permitted.

No Feuding or Character Attacks: Personal attacks, naming individuals in a negative context, or sharing identifiable anecdotes about others without consent is strictly prohibited. General or anonymized examples related to professional experiences (e.g., burnout) are permitted.

6. Medicine Forward Responsibilities

  • MF assigns a dedicated liaison to assist each participant.

  • MF provides resources, guidelines, templates, and promotional support.

  • MF will maintain accurate records of participant engagement and progress levels.


7. Intellectual Property

  • Members retain ownership of original content created during their participation.

  • MF reserves the right to use, publish, and promote created content for educational and promotional purposes with appropriate attribution.


8. Termination and Withdrawal

  • MF reserves the right to terminate participation due to misconduct, failure to meet obligations, or violations of program guidelines.

  • Participants may withdraw voluntarily with written notice to their MF liaison.


9. Amendments and Modifications

  • MF reserves the right to amend or update these terms without prior notice to participants.


10. Acceptance Participation in the Rising Star Program indicates agreement to these terms and conditions.
